3. STAKE HOUSE: Woodn’t that be a great name for a lumber yard run by a vampire? Ah ah ah.
Mark Polonia already made Sharkenstein, so it only makes sense that he would make this.
Dracula (played by Polonia regular Jeff Kirkendall) is chased off a cliff by angry villagers in landlocked Transylvania, straight into a shark’s jaws. This starts an unholy alliance. Cut to the modern day, where two bewildered mature students, John (James Kelly) and Arthur (Tim Hatch), take summer jobs in the seaside village of Arkham. They face a strict 8:00 PM curfew, mysterious shipping crates, a hotel desk clerk named Renfield (Kyle Rappaport), and Mina (Jamie Morgan), who is promised to be either the bride of Dracula or Sharkula.
I love Mark Polonia. He has an admirable work ethic. Having cranked out over a hundred features since the 1980s, he has grit and determination. And I love reading reviews of this that say, “This can’t decide if it wants to be a vampire movie or a killer shark movie.” You’re lucky to watch a Mark Polonia movie. Name me another movie that has a shark with bat wings, scored with a surf rock song?
In just 4 days, Mark made a movie that is less Jaws and Dracula and more Halloween 3 and Monster Shark.
You can watch this on Tubi.
