Official synopsis: Team captain Dani is plagued with invasive fantasies of killing her abusive coach. When the coach pushes the team too far, Dani is forced to choose whether or not to act on her fantasies of violence.
Writer/director Ran Ran Wang’s sports-themed thriller short I Think About Killing You is a tense, nerve-wracking affair. You don’t need to have ever participated in sports to empathize with its protagonist and to understand the film’s message; certainly anyone who has ever had a manipulative superior in school or the workplace can relate.

Dani (Tiana Le) is the captain of her university’s rowing team. The coach (Bridget Regan) is unrelenting in her verbal and physical abuse to the whole team. This drives Dani to fantasizing about killing the coach — but can she be driven to the point of acting out those fantasies?
There’s no let-up in this 14-minute nail-biter. The action kicks things off and Wang keeps matters at a suspenseful clip throughout. Le and Regan are both terrific in their roles, and the supporting players who portray Le’s teammates give fine performances as their characters add to the drama and tension.
I Think About Killing You screened at the Tribeca Festival, which took place June 3–14, 2026 in New York City.
