What happens when the brain trust of Antenna Releasing and Deaf Crocodile join forces to create a space catering to the most ardent physical media-focused cinephiles? ADVENTURES IN ANALOG, that’s what. A brand new physical media fulfillment center, video storefront, and microcinema located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City.
Deaf Crocodile, founded by Dennis Bartok and Craig Rogers, has cornered the market on international animation and world cinema that speaks to audiences with eclectic tastes outside of the mainstream. From rare Soviet, Czech and Hungarian classics to Taiwanese glove puppet martial arts epics to restorations of lost independent Black action movies and Mexican animated features, Deaf Crocodile are curators of the highest order.
Enter Antenna Releasing, a brand new distribution company founded by Ryan Verrill (The Disc-Connected), Billy Ray Brewton (Film Programmer and Filmmaker), and filmmaker Francis Galluppi (Last Stop in Yuma County, Evil Dead Wrath). Partnering with Deaf Crocodile on their titles for theatrical release, the relationship has grown into an explosion of analog ideas that have culminated in the launch of a brick and mortar store for the ages!
While the backroom will consist of fulfillment for all Deaf Crocodile and Antenna Releasing titles and merchandise, the front will consist of a physical media lover’s dream, featuring discs galore, merchandise, ephemera, and a microcinema where they’ll be showing some of the coolest titles from Antenna Releasing, Deaf Crocodile, Terror Vision, New Wave Video, and more! It’s your new one-stop-shop for celebrating your love of film with folks who get it!
They are currently raising funds to properly trick out ADVENTURES IN ANALOG and turn it into the coolest video store of your dreams. These funds cover the build out of the store, inventory, and the erection of the microcinema, with the goal being to soft launch the store in October/November of 2026! And they’re offering incredible rewards for supporting us on this journey, including limited edition discs and prints, naming rights to…well…a lot, and Billy Ray will even come to your home and cook you a delicious Southern dinner!
If you’ve ever supported Deaf Crocodile, Antenna Releasing, The Disc-Connected, Someone’s Favorite Productions, The Physical Media Advocate, or physical media in general, they hope you’ll consider joining us in this new adventure!
