B&S About Movies podcast episode 9: Last Ounce of Courage

Last Ounce of Courage is one of the biggest bullet ever fired in the War On Christmas. If you are offended by the fact that I’m a big liberal who also loves guns, well, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe Merry Christmas? Happy holidays? You can watch this movie on YouTube.

You can listen to the show on Spotify.

The show is also available on Apple Podcasts, I Heart Radio, Amazon Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

B&S About Movies podcast episode 8: A Visit to Santa

A Visit to Santa was made in McKeesport, outside of Pittsburgh and is a time capsule of a world that does not exist any longer. Also, it has more Pittsburgh accents than the Strip District Primanti Brothers on a Saturday night at 3 a.m. You can watch this movie on YouTube.

You can listen to the show on Spotify.

The show is also available on Apple Podcasts, I Heart Radio, Amazon Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

B&S About Movies podcast episode 7: Elves

Elves is one of my favorite movies of all time, much less holiday movies. Did you know that the Third Reich was working with elves to make the perfect race? Well, now you do. Listen to this episode and learn everything you need to know. You can watch this movie on YouTube.

You can listen to the show on Spotify.

Introducing the new B&S About Movies podcast

After a long hiatus, I’ve brought back the podcast. I was wondering how to make it unique as there are so many podcasts. The show Bizarre Albums gave me the inspiration I was looking for. On this new show, I’ll be doing one movie and trying to tell you why you should watch it in ten minutes or less. Well, I’ve already gone over that time once but that’s the idea.

I’ve already recorded several episodes and some are already posted. Here they are:

Episode 1: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band: This was the first movie on the site and is now the first episode of the podcast. How could the Bee Gees, Peter Frampton and The Beatles fail? You can rent or buy Sgt. Pepper’s at the following locations.

Episode 2: Yor Hunter from the Future: Yor the Hunter from the Future is a movie that I’ve watched hundreds of times. Get ready for me to talk about it non-stop for over ten minutes. You can find out where to watch it here.

Episode 3: Night Train to TerrorLearn about Phillip Yordan, about Satan and God playing cards, hear a song a whole bunch of times and thrill to me talking way too much about a movie no one cares about. You can watch this on Tubi.

Episode 4: Suicide Cult: The 1970s. Carnivals. Satanism. Biorhythms. Astrology. Government conspiracies. Religion. This is one film that honestly has it all — and then some. You can watch this on Tubi.

Episode 5: Manhattan Baby: Even people who love Lucio Fulci hate this movie. Not me. I love it. You’re going to find out just how much I love it. You can watch it on Tubi.

Episode 6: Santa Claws: Can John Russo make a Christmas slasher? Should he? Is it mostly women dancing half-naked? Of course it is. It’s also pretty much Night Killer in Pittsburgh. You can get it from Terror Vision or watch it on Tubi.

After the holidays, episodes will be posted weekly. Do you have a movie you want me to cover? Let me know!

You can hear the show on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, I Heart Radio, Amazon Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

Talking Black Gunn on Making Tarantino: The Podcast

I was excited to discuss Black Gunn, a 1972 Jim Brown film directed by Robert Hartford-Davis, who of course made Corruption, which is not a women’s picture. This episode has so much movie talk and discussion of just how much Jim Brown means as the first black action hero, Hartford-Davis’ incredibly scummy UK history working with the Ford brothers and his lost movie Nobody Ordered Love, Luciana Paluzzi’s Italian movies and Thunderball, Bruce Glover being way bigger than we imagined, Gary Conway being Rick Dalton and Tony Giorgio being the devil in Night Train to Terror.

This was so much fun to do and I appreciate Phil editing how much I go on and on, which can’t be easy.

You can listen to it wherever you find podcasts or check out the official Making Tarantino website.

Or you can listen to it here:

Listen to Bill and Sam on Neon Brainiacs!

We’re guest-starring with the Neon Brainiacs this week!

Here’s what they have to say:

“We’re avoiding hugs this week, maniacs, as we dive into the 1980 toxic waste PSA that is The Children. Bringing us this weird slice of 80s horror are the hosts of Drive-In Asylum, Bill Van Ryn and Sam Panico. While we dissect the flick, we also discuss topics such as standard procedure for dealing with abandoned buses, old-time industry nicknames that sound like giallo film titles, and apple routes. And in true crossover fashion, Sam shares a movie-related cocktail recipe towards the end of the episode!”

You can listen to this episode here or anywhere you find podcasts!

Too Beautiful to Die on the Giallo of the Month Club podcast!

I can’t believe I got the chance to discuss one of my favorite late in the game giallo films, Too Beautiful to Die, on the Giallo of the Month Club! You can listen to it right here!

I had a blast talking about this film with host Dianne, as well as discussing why there aren’t that many gialli sequels, the two gialli trilogies (What Have You Done to Solange?/What Have They Done With Your Daughters?/Red Rings of Fear and Nothing Underneath/Too Beautiful to Die/Sotto il vestito niente – L’ultima sfilata), Joe D’Amato, how B&S About Movies and the Drive-In Asylum Double Feature got started, late 80s Italian horror and gialli, pro wrestling and so much more.

We talked about so much that I forgot to mention that Dario Piana came to the U.S. and eventually directed another sequel, the direct to video Lost Boys: The Thirst!

If I can get more people to watch this movie, I will have achieved my goal. Well, along with getting more people to watch Dial HelpObsession: A Taste for Fear and Bizarre.

Thanks so much for having me on the show! It was really a goal of mine and I’m so excited to share!
