Welcome to B&S About Movies. My name is Sam Panico and the name of the site comes from B, my wife Becca, and me. When we got together, we combined our DVD collection and decided to share our thoughts about movies with a podcast and a website, which we started in 2018.

As you can tell, I write most of the content on this site and have been the sole owner, operator and administrator of B&S About Movies since 2018. Any time that you see the byline ‘bandsaboutmovies” that is me and me alone.

Occasionally, guest writers will contribute. All reviews these writers will either have a unique byline (under the film reviewed-title) other than “bandssaboutmovies” in addition to an “About the Author” addendum with that guest contributor’s social media information. Other, less frequent guest writers not given their own unique byline identity are published under my personal “bandsaboutmovies” identity: for those reviews, an “About the Author” byline — which includes that writer’s social media information — appears at the top of the review/article/artist interview.

I also ask that you please do not use the social media or email contacts of any of this site’s guest writers to express your concerns regarding the content of B&S About Movies. Regarding our review content and how we decide on films to review: While film reviews and features appear on this site without solicitation, just for our love of film, please note the reviews for independent films or independent film festivals films that appear on this site are the result of either the filmmakers or their related distributions or public relations firms contacting B&S About Movies directly. In those cases, they provide press kits and free streaming screener materials to write those review or filmmaker interviews. In those cases, if we receive a screener or not, that has no effect — positive or negative — on said film review. It’s an honest review, whether it is agreed with or not.
